Relaxed Hair & Growth

Relaxed Hair & Growth
Growing up having a relaxer there were times I never touched my hair in between maintenance. I would let it go until it became stiff and oily until my next hair appointment. When I did try to do my hair, it didn't always go well and the growth of my hair soon became stagnant. Luckily, with much patience and consistency and learning what my hair needed, I finally achieved my goal of reaching armpit length with relaxed hair. It was a small goal, but a goal nonetheless. Which is healthier? What looks better? Are we conforming to European standards? Given the great feedback we received in our last post about this area, we chatted with these two young women on either side of the hair spectrum, to give their take on their natural and relaxed hair.

Just Relax!

Just Relax!
While different women around me were trading in their “creamy crack” for the big chop, I was setting up my next relaxer appointmentJust like the women around me going natural, so were the hair gurus I followed on social media. It seemed like every time I looked up, someone I followed specifically for relaxed hair care were either growing out their hair or chopping it off! Luckily, others noticed noticed a gap and began to start their own channels and pages.
