Essential oils are only used to lubricate and moisturize your scalp or to seal in moisture that you already worked through your hair. Fun fact! Our scalp already has natural glands that produces an oil called Sebum. Sebum lubricates the hair shaft and the strands of hair that comes out of our scalp, this is why it’s important to use good moisturizing conditioners and deep conditioners after you wash your hair.
After the whole Eco-styler incident and finding out they have some harsh ingredients that and not only be damaging to our hair but also our lives to even the shea moisture incident where they just changed to formula to cater to other hair types. Luckily, here at Coil Beauty we have many hair products for black hair that will keep it healthy and grow and feel like someone is looking out for you and your hair needs!
The natural hair movement became a liberating time for most black women. More women were loving on themselves, not giving into society standards on what “good hair” is or even just realizing how to better take care of their hair and having a healthier crown. This change was amazing to see, but there is a flip side to this movement that I don't believe gets enough attention: the judgement.
